Wichtige Informationen
Dear students, interested in the virtual reality and virtual engineering internship,

both internships will take place for last time in the summer semester 2025.

To register, please complete the questionnaires in ILIAS by April 20, 2025 and let us know which kinds of projects you would prefer to work on. Only students with fulfulled questionnaire will get place in the course. If you filled it out, but cannot take up your internship, please let us know by e-mail.

The virtual engineering internship is offered for Master's students and the virtual reality internship for Bachelor's students. Please consult your module handbooks. The students of both courses will work together on the projects.

The first event will be held on April 22 at 14:00 in presence. Further information will be published in the ILIAS course.

Location: Seminar room on the 3rd floor at Kriegsstr. 77, 76133 Karlsruhe.

Kursprogramm
Objectives of the virtual reality practical course

Overall objective: After the internship, students will be able to operate and use the existing hardware and software for virtual reality (VR) applications in order to

- design the solution to a complex task in a team
- solve the subtasks within a specific work package in smaller groups, taking into account the interfaces
- develop a complete end product
- Desired competencies: Methodical approach with practice-oriented engineering tasks, ability to work in a team, work in interdisciplinary groups, time management

Course: The virtual reality practical course consists of the following partially overlapping phases:

Basics: Introduction to VR (hardware, software, applications)
Tool: familiarization with the development environment
Applications: varies according to current research topic (see videos below)
The module examination is a different type of performance assessment and consists of

Presentation of the project work (40%)
Individual project portfolio for the work in the 3rd phase (30%)
Independent work on a topic in the field of virtual reality (20%)
Social skills (10%)
The laboratories are also available to students for independent work (research, follow-up work, development) outside of the lectures by prior arrangement.
