Registration Registration takes place through the Ilias course. Description The laboratory is aimed at all students majoring in mechanical engineering and related courses who are interested in image-based driver assistance systems and autonomous driving and would like to acquire interdisciplinary qualifications in this exciting and future-oriented field. You will have the opportunity to practically apply the knowledge learned in lectures in small groups under the scientific guidance of the lecturers and to develop your own ideas for solving the tasks set around small autonomous vehicles. Laboratory format: The laboratory takes place on site. Questions are discussed in weekly meetings and the teams are supported in their tasks. Work on the vehicle takes place in the institute's machine hall. Goals: The task includes the areas of vehicle guidance, video-based object detection and collision avoidance. It includes information technology, control technology and kinematic aspects in the area of vehicle technology. Through the regular project meetings in which the individual groups have to present their interim results, key qualifications such as implementation skills, project work, teamwork and presentation skills are strengthened in addition to the technical qualifications. Requirements: • It is advantageous to have attended the lectures Verhaltensgenerierung für Fahrzeuge as well as a lecture in the area of image processing (e. g. Machine Vision or Automotive Vision / Fahrzeugsehen) or to attend them in parallel to this course. • Programming knowledge • Enjoyment and curiosity in practically trying out new ideas.
