Important Information
The lecture introduces the fundamentals of human-machine interaction (HCI). After completing the module, students will have acquired a basic knowledge of the field of human-machine interaction. They will have mastered the basic techniques for evaluating user interfaces, will be familiar with the basic rules and techniques for designing user interfaces, and will have knowledge of existing user interaction and interfaces. You can apply these basic techniques to analyse user interfaces of computer systems and to synthesise alternative, better solutions from existing designs. The lecture is based on internationally used standard literature. The lecture is given in English, all material is provided in English language. The lecture is also part of the English CS master.
Syllabus
Human perception (physiological foundations, human senses, Gestalt)
Human information processing (HIP models, psychological foundations, action processes)
Design basics and methods, principles, guidelines and standards for the design of user interfaces
Design analysis of human-machine interaction
Basics and examples of user interface design and user interface modelling methods
Studies: Evaluation of systems for human-machine interaction (tools, evaluation methods, performance measurement, study design and implementation)
