The Electron Microscopy I exercise teaches hands on the physical principles of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM). Practical exercises on the microscopes provide an insight into the technology to accompany the lecture. Insights into solid state and materials research will be given to illustrate the possibilities and limitations of these techniques.
