22617 – Biofilm Systems

This lecture aims at providing an overview of biofilm systems, their development, functions, applications, and the techniques used to investigate them. Thus, topics involved will include basics of (biofilm) microbiology, natural (environmental) biofilm systems, their application in technical systems (reactors), and methods used in biofilm research (i.e., imaging techniques, analysis).
