2312704 – Superconductors for Energy Applications

This course gives an introduction to superconductors and their (large-scale) energy applications. It is primarily directed to Bachelor students with no or limited previous knowledge of superconductivity. In addition to regular lectures, the course has also practical exercises, mostly based on numerical simulations.

5) Materials III (magnesium diboride and iron-based superconductors)

8) Applications II (cables, fault current limiters)
9) Applications III (SMES, flywheels, levitating trains, inductions heaters)
10) Applications IV (electrical machines)
