Registration Code

General information about the temporary (local) ILIAS account:
  • With a registration code a temporary ILIAS account can be created.
  • The temporary ILIAS account is only active for the current semester.
  • The validity of the account can be extended for the following semester.
If you have received a registration code due to delayed master registration, you should note several things:
  • The local, temporary ILIAS account resulting from the registration code is limited in time.
  • If you have received your KIT account (u-abbreviation + password), you should...
    • ... take over all your registered courses by registering again via the KIT account.
    • ... inform your lecturer that you will soon no longer have access to your local account and that any files/results associated with the account should be transferred to your KIT account.

How do I register with KIT-ILIAS?

With a registration code you can create a local ILIAS account. You will only receive a registration code in special cases, such as late enrollment and early start of studies.

You can register at KIT-ILIAS as follows:

  1. You visit the page ilias.studium.kit.edu and click on the right on the door symble.
  2. Then click on the field „Lokales Gast-Konto“ .
  3. Afterwards you click on „Neues Benutzerkonto registrieren“     .
  4. Now enter your registration code under the heading „Code“.
  5. Then enter a username and a password (these are your login data).
  6. You confirm your password.
  7. Then enter your first and last name under the heading „Persönliche Daten“.
  8. In the next step, enter an e-mail address under the rubric „Kontaktinformationen“ and confirm it in the field below.
  9. You confirm the same by clicking next to the user agreement.
  10. Finally, you confirm your entries by clicking on „Registrieren“.

All additional information can be added voluntarily by you.

How do Iog in to KIT-ILIAS?

Once you have received your login data, you can log in to KIT-ILIAS. To do so, please follow the steps below:
  1. You visit the page ilias.studium.kit.edu .
  2. Then click on the field „Anmelden“ in the upper right corner.
  3. Now enter your new login files under the heading „Lokale ILIAS-Anmeldung“.
  4. Finally click again on the field „Anmelden“ .

What to do if you have forgotten your password?

People with a temporary ILIAS account can reset their password via ILIAS:
  1. ilias.studium.kit.edu.
  2. Then click on "Anmelden".
  3. Scroll down and click on "Passwort vergessen?".
  4. Enter your account data and the corresponding e-mail address.
  5. Confirm.

How do I renew my local ILIAS account?

Renewing an existing local account requires a registration code. If you have it at hand, follow the next steps:

  1. You click on "Anmelden". (Door symbol)
  2. Further click an "Lokales Gast-Konto" (local account).
  3. You then enter your account data.
  4. You confirm by clicking on "Anmelden".
  5. Now enter your individual registration code.
  6. Click "Abschicken" to confirm.
  7. At last you should have received a green highlighted message confirming your renewal.
